Eddie awarded an Interdisciplinary Innovation Fellowship
Published:
We are thrilled to announce that Eddie (also known as Pablo) has been awarded an Interdisciplinary Innovation Fellowship by the One Health Microbiome Center! His project is titled “Toward Elucidation of Immunoglobulin A (IgA)-Microbe Interactions in the Small Intestine.”
The fellowship will provide funding for Eddie to travel to the University of Utah, where he will learn the protocols for IgA-seq, a technique that is not currently done at PSU. IgA-seq enables us to identify which microbes are bound to human secreted IgA, allowing us to incorporate IgA-targeting of microbes into our studies on nutritional malabsorption in the small intestine. Congratulations, Eddie! We look forward to you sharing your new skills with the lab and the broader Penn State community!
